Speech realisation of the pragmatic functions in the fiction text (on the material of the English short story of the XIX–XX centuries)

Abstract
The article deals with identifying the functions of the English short story and studying their pragmatic potential. Special attention has been paid to analysing the ways of the discovered pragmatic functions speech realisation. The results have shown that the functions of the English short story closely interact within the text and promote a particular pragmatic effect.
