THE EFFECT OF THE ANNEALING TEMPERATURE ON THE CORROSION RESISTANCE OF WELD JOINT OF AISI 310 STEEL - SHORT COMMUNICATION
Journal Title: Materials Engineering - Materialove inzinierstvo (MEMI) - Year 2011, Vol 18, Issue 4
Abstract
The article presents samples of weld joint of AISI 310 austenitic steel which were subjected to solution annealing at various temperature - time exposures. The objective of the experiment was to determine the annealing temperature so that the steel should not be sensitized. Tendency to intercrystalline corrosion was analysed by means of a corrosion test in 10% oxalic acid according to ASTM A 262. At the temperatures of 1000 and 1100°C held for 15 min. the steel was not sensitized. At the temperature of 850°C the steel was sensitized, i.e. susceptible to intercrystalline corrosion.

Prediction of maximum casting defect size in MAR-M-247 alloy processed by hot isostatic pressing
Nickel based MAR-M-247 superalloy treated by hot isostatic pressing was investigated with the aim to identify the influence of casting defect size on fatigue life. Two testing temperatures of 650 and 800°C and one stress...
USING THE VIDEOEXTENSOMETRY AND UCI - HARDNESS FOR MONITORING OF AUTOMOTIVE STEEL SHEETS
The paper deals with examination of relation between the hardness and the size of plastic zone during the tensile loading. UCI (Ultrasonic Contact Impedance) micro-hardness method was used for hardness measurements. Defo...
COMPUTER CONTROLLED EXPERIMENTAL DEVICE FOR INVESTIGATIONS OF TRIBOLOGICAL INFLUENCES IN SHEET METAL FORMING
Sheet metal forming, especially deep drawing process is influenced by many factors. Blank holding force and drawbead displacement are two of them that can be controlled during the forming process. For this purpose, an e...
EVALUATION OF THE FLOW ACCELERATED CORROSION OF COPPER PIPES
Corrosion behavior of the Cu pipe system has been investigated by long term experiment. The two identical experimental systems were made and fulfilled by the solution of 3 % NaCl. The work medium in the first system was...
